Jonathan LaPaglia served as an emergency ward physician in Adelaide, Sydney, and London for three years after graduating from university. In 1994, he came to New York City to join the Circle in the Square Theatre School, hoping to follow in his brother’s footsteps into acting.

LaPaglia received his first break two years later when he was cast in the television series New York Undercover.
