It all started when Greta Thunberg, a Swedish environmental activist, uploaded a “Toolkit” document on the American microblogging and social networking service Twitter on February 3, 2021, in support of the current farmer’s protest. According to reports, the pamphlet was created by Indian activists Disha Ravi, Shantanu Muluk, and Nikita Jacob in order to sow discontent and animosity toward Indian secularism[1]NDTV.
In February 2021, Disha Ravi, the main suspect in the infamous Toolkit case, was arrested. However, Shantanu and Nikita were charged with modifying and generating the Toolkit paper, as well as being in direct touch with Pro-Khalistani groups, and a non-bailable warrant was issued against them a few days later.
