Early Years and Bio

Leonor was born on October 31, 2005, in Madrid, Spain, as Leonor de Todos los Santos de Borbón y Ortiz. She is currently 17 years old and a Spanish national. She also adheres to Roman Catholicism. Also, She was conceived in the Ruber International Hospital in Madrid.

Leonor is the oldest child of Spanish Kings Felipe VI and Letizia. On June 19, 2014, her father was given the title of king, making her the heir apparent. Infanta Sofa, her younger sister, is the next in line to succeed her.

Education

The Infant Guardia Real School, a daycare run by the Spanish Royal Guard, was where Leonor started her schooling. She started her first year of primary school at the Santa Mara de los Rosales School in Aravaca, just outside of Madrid, on September 15, 2008. Sofa, her younger sister, is a student there as well. Leonor is fluent in Spanish, English, and Mandarin. She learnt the latter language from her British nanny and her grandmother, Queen Sofa.

What are the Activities she did?

The wax replica of Leonor was unveiled in Madrid’s Museo de Cera in October 2014. On May 20, 2015, she received her First Communion in accordance with Catholic tradition. The day before her ninth birthday, her father presented her with the Order of the Golden Fleece. The Council of Ministers also approved the design of her personal standard and guidon. Later, during a ceremony held at the Royal Palace of Madrid in honor of King Felipe’s 50th birthday in January 2018, the King gave Leonor the Golden Fleece collar.

When Leonor traveled with her parents to Covadonga to commemorate the 1,300th anniversary of the Kingdom of Asturias in September 2018, it was her first time appearing in front of the public outside the palace. Princess Leonor recited the first article of the Spanish Constitution in her inaugural speech on October 31, 2018, at the Instituto Cervantes in Madrid. Her 13th birthday and the 40th anniversary of the constitution both fell on the same day as the speech. She made her first important speech at the Premio Princesa de Asturias on October 18, 2019. She spoke in Spanish, Catalan, English, and Arabic during her inaugural speech on November 4, 2019, at the Princess of Girona Foundation awards ceremony in Barcelona.

Awards

She holds the title of notional chairwoman of the Princess of Asturias Foundation and the Princess of Girona Foundation as the heir apparent to the throne, while her father holds both positions until she turns 18 years old. As is customary for the heir to the throne, her father also gave her the Order of the Golden Fleece medal and collar (awarded on 30 October 2015, and presented on 30 January 2018).
