Her parents are not well-known because she prefers to lead a secluded life. However, Markowitz discussed her parents in a 2014 interview with Time. She claimed that her mother was a teacher and that her father had been a doctor in Russia. Her mother made yarmulkes for the neighborhood Judaica shop, but once they moved to Brooklyn, her father became a cab driver.
Markowitz added, “My parents had spent their entire lives examining globe atlases and preparing their future travel destinations. Despite the fact that we had little money, they had saved it all for our future travels.

maintains a private life with her husband and children. Although Private Markowitz is married, she hasn’t yet shared the identity of her spouse. The pair is a parent to children.
Markowitz and her children moved to Florida in December 2021, citing the following reason: “I am leaving New York City, where my husband and I both grew up and where we had planned to raise our own kids. Our family has had to leave New York due to the COVID-19 response, particularly when children are concerned.
The pandemic “hit New York early and hard,” said to Markowitz, who spoke to The New York Post. I was still very certain that we will bounce back. I thought that my city would recover like we did in the wake of 9/11, the 2003 blackout, and Hurricane Sandy.
We learned to work together and support one another during those trying times, she continued. The days that followed those incidents were among the most lovely and uplifting. New Yorkers supported one another. We were as close-knit as any little village in our enormous city.
Markowitz added that she received hundreds of letters from New Yorkers who were considering doing the same action after she revealed that they were leaving the city and relocating to Florida.
