On February 13, 2024, Ikram, presiding over a case involving three demonstrators carrying or wearing images that appeared to glorify Hamas (the political and military movement that governs the Gaza Strip and is designated as a terrorist organization in the UK), found them guilty but granted them conditional discharges. This judgment was criticized.
It was later revealed that Ikram had posted and ‘liked’ an online article by pro-Palestinian attorney Sham Uddin condemning “Israeli terrorists in the United Kingdom, the United States, and, of course, Israel.” The Campaign Against Antisemitism indicated that they would file a complaint with the Judicial Conduct Investigations Office against Ikram’s decision in this instance.
