Shourav Dashari is the spelling bee. He started his journey of spelling when he was 7 years old. Not only Shourav but his sister Shobha is also a spelling bee. She was near to the trophy at the Scripps National Spelling Bee.
He was going to win in 2017 but he ends up becoming third. 2020 was the last year he would take part in a spelling bee. His parents’ name is Usha Dasari and Ganesh Dasari.
Thye came to the US from Andra Pradesh of India. We can see his struggle to become a spelling bee in the documentary “Spelling The Dream”. We can see his mother is the regular trainer of his spelling.
The family has unrevealed the secrets that they have a database that has more than 1,25,000 base words. The words there are categorized into classes which makes them easier to study. Shourav Dasari and Shobha both used to study from that. The brother and sister then become the founders of the company Spellpundit.
The siblings just organized a spelling bee after the national spelling bee got canceled due to Covid-19. They took the session from May 23 to May 28, 2020, from zoom. The winner of the show was Navneeth Murali, a 14-year-old. He was from New Jersey. Shourav announced the winner by saying yes you are the winner of the SPELLING BEE ONLINE.
