Nancy Wilson married drummer Kenny Dennis for the first time in 1960. Kenneth (Kacy) Dennis Jr., the couple’s first child, was born in 1963. In 1970, they divorced.

On May 22, 1973, she married Presbyterian preacher Reverend Wiley Burton. Samantha Burton was born in 1975, and she is their only child. In 1976, they adopted Sheryl Burton.

She died on December 13, 2018, at the age of 81, at her home in Pioneertown, California, following a protracted illness. Burton, her husband, died in 2008 from renal cancer.
