His father, Rick, owns a business that provides internet services to police departments, while his mother, Kelly, is a life coach and hypnotherapy. Kelly is a recognized graduate of Burnham, England’s Coach University, which is regarded as the global leader in training programs for life and executive coaches.
With five siblings, Adam grew up in Scranton, Pennsylvania. Adam experienced a number of health issues when he was a young child. Rippon was born with an infection in one of his eyes and a hearing loss of 80%. Fortunately, both of these issues were resolved before to his first birthday.

Early Career
Yelena Sergeeva initially guided Adam Rippon from 2000 to 2007. At the 2005 U.S. Championships’ Novice level, he won his first silver medal. Adam participated in the Junior Division that year and won his first gold medal. In the 2005–06 season, Adam made his debut for the ISU Junior Grand Prix circuit.
He stopped working with Yelena by the end of 2007 and started doing so with Nikolai Morozov. After that, Adam participated in the Cup of Russia, the Grand Prix season, and numerous other events. Again, he made his coaching switch official by the end of 2009.
Final Year
Adam Rippon competed for the senior national championship at the 2009 U.S. Championships for the first time in 2009. He won his two World Junior titles at the same time. Adam competed in two Grand Prix competitions the next year in 2009–10, taking home bronze in each of them. In 2010, Adam won a gold medal at the Four Continents. Later, he began his subsequent season at the Japan Open, where he took home the bronze medal.
Adam received training at the Detroit Skating Club in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, in 2011. He worked for Jason Dungjen and met Pasquale Camerlengo, his choreographer. After that, he won silver at the 2012 U.S. Championships for his other medal. Soon after, he switched coaches once more and began training with Rafael Arutyunyan in Lake Arrowhead, California.
Adam won a silver medal in 2013–14 after achieving a new personal record at Skate America in 2013. He won the 2014 CS Finlandia Trophy once more, moving him up to second place overall.
Adam finished second at the US Championships before making the Four Continents team and the Worlds team. He won another gold at the 2016 U.S. Championships the following year. Olympics
One of Adam’s most significant life milestones is the 2017–18 season, which also marks the conclusion of his professional career. He had a solid start to the 2017 CS Finlandia Trophy season, winning the bronze.
He won silver in each of his Grand Prix assignments after that. Adam Rippon was one of the three men chosen to represent the USA at the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, South Korea, by the 2018 U.S. Championships. He won the bronze medal in the figure skating team competition there.
Injury
On January 6, 2017, Adam injured his left ankle while warming up off the rink. He broke his left foot’s fifth metatarsal bone back then. He was forced to withdraw from the 2017 U.S. Championships as a result.
Retirement
On November 19, 2018, Adam Rippon ended his competitive figure skating career. Most of his career, Adam has grappled with the news of his retirement.

Rippon served as a judge on “Dancing with the Stars: Juniors” just after he retired. That program, however, began airing in October and will continue through early December.
He also became one of the famous people that participated in Dancing with the Stars season 26. He competed back then as a team with Jenna Johnson and finished first.
Adam Rippon used his celebrity throughout the situation to promote equality and was given the Human Rights Campaign (HRC) Visibility Award. Currently, Adam is Mariah Bell’s assistant coach. He started his journey during the 2021–2022 season.
