As per her education, Clarkson went to Lisgar Collegiate Institute in 1956 after enrolling at the University of Toronto’s Trinity College. It was at this institution that she was awarded the Governor General’s Medal in English, prior to her graduation in 1960 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English that was completed with honors.
