David and Penny Turner, secondary school educators, have only one kid. His ethnicity is British-Scottish, and he is a British national. His mother, who is from Amersham, Buckinghamshire, and who taught German and was “fascinated by language,” has remarked that his parents came from “quite different backgrounds.”
His father, a native of Sheffield, taught physics and music. His earliest musical recollections were The Beatles and The Beach Boys because both of his parents were avid music listeners. Turner and his neighbor Matt Helders attended elementary school, high school, and college together starting when Turner was five years old. He was a Stocksbridge High School student.
