Grande Prairie, in Alberta, is where Zahara was born. His mother says he’s always enjoyed entertaining audiences. Actors like Humphrey Bogart and James Cagney were his heroes growing up. He was involved in theater while still in school and performed in a MASH stage production.
He made the decision to go to film school while taking some time off to travel to Europe and relax on a Greek beach. At the Vancouver Film School, Zahara later instructed a class on “Acting for Teens.” Zahara received her MFA from the University of British Columbia after receiving her BFA from the University of Alberta.

After graduating from college, Alex started acting professionally. He appeared in numerous critically acclaimed plays before getting his first acting role in the 1999 film The 13th Warrior, which starred Antonio Banderas and Omar Sharif.
