Amal Alamuddin, better known by her stage name Amal Clooney, is a Lebanese-British lawyer at Doughty Street Chambers with a focus on human rights and international law. She is also well known for being George Clooney’s wife, a movie actor and director. Early Years: Where is Amal Clooney from?

Amal Clooney was born on February 3, 1978, in Beirut, Lebanon, under the given name Amal Alamuddin. She is of Lebanese-British nationality and is of mixed race because she is descended from both Druze and Arab Lebanese. During the Lebanese Civil War, when she was two years old, her family fled Lebanon and eventually settled in Gerrards Cross, Buckinghamshire. She is a practicing Muslim. Amal turned 43 years old in 2021, and according to her birth date, she is an Aquarius. Her race is therefore white. The American University of Beirut is where her father Ramzi Alamuddin obtained his MBA.

He is a Lebanese Druze from the village of Baakline, which is part of the Alam al-Din dynasty, in the Chouf District. In 1991, he went back to Lebanon. In the dispute between Merck Sharp and Dohme and the Republic of Ecuador in 2011, Amal provided support to the Permanent Court of Arbitration. In 2004, when he and other journalists were detained in Egypt, she spoke on behalf of Canadian Al Jazeera journalist Mohamed Fahmy. She began working on the acknowledgment of the Armenian genocide in January 2015, and she and Geoffrey Robertson QC represented Armenia on behalf of Doughty Street Chambers. On March 8, 2015, she brought a claim against the Philippine government before the UN Working Group on Arbitrary Detention. On April 7, 2015, it was revealed that she would be a member of the legal team representing Mohamed Nasheed.

In June 2015, Clooney started working on the freshly reopened Hooded Men case, which involved the Irish government accusing the British government of violating human rights. She worked on the matter with the Irish Minister for Foreign Affairs Charles Flanagan, and in September 2018, the court dismissed the case’s final appeal. In 2016, it was revealed that Clooney would defend journalist Khadija Ismayilova from Azerbaijan before the European Court of Human Rights. She made her first appearance at the UN in September 2016 before the UNODC to address the choice she had made in June 2016 to represent Nadia Murad as a client in legal proceedings against ISIL commanders.
