In 2003, Amy gave birth to their third child, a son named Evan Samuel Mickelson. However, there was a severe issue with Evan’s birth. During the delivery, Amy ruptured an artery in her uterus, and the baby stopped breathing. Phil stated, ”

“I didn’t go into it too much, but Amy had a really risky delivery with Evan,” says the author.

“It was a rough delivery for him… He didn’t breathe for seven minutes, and if the emergency nurses hadn’t arrived with the necessary equipment, he could have had significant brain damage or other complications.”

Fortunately, they both survived, but the family would learn more awful news about Amy’s health years later.

Amy and Phil’s Volunteering and Sponsorships
