They said they could not imagine their girls committing such a horrific deed.
Anissa and Morgan, two 12-year-old girls from Waukesha, Wisconsin, lured their classmate Payton Leutner into a neighboring woodland on May 31, 2014. They stabbed her 19 times to gratify Slender Man, a horrible crime.

Anissa Weier’s parents say she’s sorry for the May 2014 stabbing. She and her sister Morgan Geyser allegedly stabbed Payton Leutner 19 times.
Anissa and Morgan, both 12, said that the crime was a tribute to Slender Man, whom they believed was real owing to their devotion. Although they admitted stabbing in police interviews, the girls have pleaded not guilty.
Her parents said they were unaware of her obsession with the mythical character. After her arrest, Morgan’s mother, Angie, called her “floridly psychotic.”
Correctional authorities saw Morgan chatting to herself, pretending to be a cat, and keeping ants. She claimed unicorn encounters and talks with Slender Man, Severus Snape, and others.
