Hill was also questioned about why she followed Thomas to the second job while being harassed, to which she said that it was her aim to work in a prestigious position.

She put up with the harassment in order to work there, but she eventually understood it was due to her poor judgment. The Senate, however, rejected the case since the members voted in favor of Clarence.

Speaking Truth to Power, her first book (autobiography), was published in 1997. She discussed her side of the sexual harassment scandal as well as her professional relationship with Clarence Thomas.
