Anna Wintour was born in Hampstead, London, on November 3, 1949. She was born in the United Kingdom and then moved to New York, New York. She is the daughter of Charles Wintour, an editor at the Evening Standard, and Eleanor Trego Baker, a Harvard law professor’s daughter. In 1979, her parents split and separated. After thereafter, Anna’s father, Charles Wintour, married Audrey Slaughter, a magazine director who later became Anna’s stepmother.
