Career and Professional Life

Awsten began his career as a guitarist in the band The Blue Poptarts. Waterparks In Houston, Texas was formed in 2011 by Awsten and Gage Matthieu. They met while they were both in different bands. The band’s first members are guitarist Geoff Wigington and drummer Owen Marvin.

They performed their first show at Warehouse Live in Houston on August 17, 2012. Following their first show, both Gage and Owen left the band, and Geoff Wigington and Otto Wood replaced them.

They released three EPs in November 2015, two of which were released independently and the third through Equal Vision. During Awsten’s band’s performance at the Troubadour in West Hollywood, California, the band was given the opportunity to perform with Good Charlotte.

Furthermore, on November 4, 2016, they released Double Dare, their first full-length album. They then left the music label Equal Vision.

The band signed with Hopeless on May 23rd, 2019. Hopeless Records released their third full-length album, Fandom.
