Adair performed alongside musicians Dinah Shore, Peggy Lee, Ray Stevens, Steve Allen, Chet Atkins, Cass Elliott, Vince Gill, and Dolly Parton on the Cash show.
- She and Denis Solee established the Adair-Solee Quartet in 1982, which subsequently developed into the sextet Be-Bop Co-Op. Adair’s initial self-titled album, Escape to New York, served as the singer’s introduction to music. She started the Beegie Adair Trio, which has sold over 1.5 million recordings.
- Adair appeared in more than 100 recordings during the course of her 60-year career. 35 of these were recorded by her eponymous trio, which also included Adair, Roger Spencer on bass, and Chris Brown on percussion. Adair was influenced by people like George Shearing, Bill Evans, Oscar Peterson, and Erroll Garner.
- Adair released a six-CD centenary collection titled “The Great American Songbook Collection” in 2002. It includes music by American songwriters such Irving Berlin, Hoagy Carmichael, George Gershwin, Jerome Kern, Duke Ellington, and Richard Rodgers.
- Adair also served as an adjunct professor at Vanderbilt University’s Blair School of Music, where she taught jazz studies. She performed frequently at the Nashville Jazz Workshop, where she was a faculty member and board member. In 2002, Adair received recognition as a Steinway Artist. She was honored into the Halls of Fame at Cave City and Western Kentucky Universities. For the first time, she was given the Heritage Award by the Nashville Jazz Workshop.
