Manchester City
Ben Mee signed his first professional contract with Manchester City in September 2007, where he captained the City team that won the 2007–2008 FA Youth Cup, to begin his football career. He then agreed to a new two-year contract in February 2009, which would keep him with City through June 2011. When he was included in City’s 2010 summer tour of the US, he received his first significant test of first-team experience. He continued his tour appearances by starting against West Bromwich Albion in the League Cup on September 22, 2010, a match they lost 2-1.
On January 1, 2011, he also signed for Championship team Leicester City, where he would later join Greg Cunningham, a colleague from Manchester City. On November 29, he recorded his first shutout for Burnley in a 4-0 victory over Ipswich Town. His season was cut short, however, when he suffered a minor back fracture while playing in a 5-1 victory over Portsmouth. His season was over after 31 appearances.
