Bell went to Bishop Carroll Catholic High School, where he played quarterback in football and baseball. Blake threw for 2,752 yards and 32 touchdowns as a senior in 2009.

Rivals.com ranked him as the sixth-best pro-style quarterback prospect.

Then, Blake Bell chose the University of Oklahoma to play for the Sooners but redshirted in 2010, which began his freshman year in 2011.

As a rookie, he appeared in only seven games, accumulating 44 rushing attempts for 171 yards and 13 touchdowns. Ben was named MVP of the 2011 Insight Bowl after gaining 201 yards on 10 carries and scoring three touchdowns.

As a sophomore in 2012, Ben rushed for 201 yards and eleven touchdowns on 60 attempts, while also completing 9-of-16 throws for 107 yards.

As a junior in 2013, Ben appeared in 11 games, completing 140 of 233 passes for 1,648 yards, 12 touchdowns, and 5 interceptions. He did, however, miss the 2014 Sugar Bowl.

Blake’s senior year in 2014 saw him move to tight end after redshirt freshman quarterback Trevor Knight joined the team.

He also played in only 9 games, recording 16 receptions for 214 yards and four touchdowns.

Blake Bell entered the draft after the East-West Shrine Game in 2015.

The San Francisco 49ers selected him in the fourth round (117th overall) of the 2015 NFL Draft.

Bell was waived after two seasons with the 49ers (2015 and 2016), in which he appeared in 27 games (only five starts) and had 19 receptions for 271 yards, averaging 10 yards per game.

He signed with the Minnesota Vikings on September 3, 2017 and played for them for one season.

Blake then spent the 2018 season with the Jacksonville Jaguars, where he started four games and had eight receptions for 67 yards.

Bell signed with the Kansas City Chiefs on April 2, 2019, and scored his first touchdown (8-yard touchdown) in a 51-31 win over the Houston Texans in the AFC Divisional Playoff.
