Brad Richardson was born in Belleville, Ontario, Canada on February 4, 1985. Bradley Benjamin Stanley Richardson is his given name. He has a British-Swedish ancestry. He hasn’t revealed anything about his family background, including his father, mother, or siblings, as of yet. In terms of his schooling, he attended St. Theresa Catholic Secondary School in his hometown and finished with honors. Brad Richardson began his ice hockey career with the AA Belleville Bobcats of the minor ice hockey league. He then went on to play with the AAA Quinte Red Devils. In 1998, he participated in the Quebec International Pee-Wee Hockey Tournament with the team.

After that, he was picked by the Colorado Avalanche in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft. He also played in the Ontario Hockey League with the squad. With the team in the 2005-06 season, he played his first professional game in the National Hockey League. In the same year, he was a member of the Lowell Lock Monsters of the American Hockey League. The next year, he joined the Colorado Avalanche of the National Hockey League. In 73 games that season, he set a career high with 14 goals and 22 points. Colorado later traded him to the Los Angeles Kings on June 21, 2008. He signed a two-year contract with the Kings in September 2008.

Brad got his first hat trick against his old team, Colorado, on October 23, 2010. He then signed a two-year contract with the Kings. After that, he became a free agent in 2013.
