Brent Barry’s Biography and Early Years
Brent Barry was born on December 31, 1971, in Hempstead, New York, to Rick Barry and Pam Hale. When he was a child, his parents divorced, and his father married his stepmother, Lynn Barry.
Rick, his father, is a retired basketball Hall of Famer who was also an NBA champion and Finals MVP. His stepmother was also a successful college basketball player.
Brent has four siblings: three brothers, Scooter Barry, Jon Barry, and Drew Barry, and a sister, Shannon. He has a half-brother named Lynn Barry as well.
His three brothers are all professional basketball players.

Brent Barry was selected 15th overall by the Denver Nuggets in the 1995 NBA Draft as a shooting guard. He was quickly traded to the Los Angeles Clippers, where he spent three seasons until 1998. In 1996, he also won the Slam Dunk Contest at the NBA All-Star Game.
Barry was traded to the Miami Heat in 1998, where he appeared in 17 games but did not start any of them.
