Darrell Wallace Jr., better known as Bubba Wallace, is an American stock car racing driver who competes full-time in the NASCAR Cup Series for Richard Petty Motorsports in the Bo.43 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 1LE. Previously, he was a development driver for Joe Gibbs Racing in the Camping World Truck Series, driving a 54 Toyota Tundra for Kyle Busch’s Motorsports.

Bubba Wallace, the most successful African-American driver in NASCAR history, was born on October 8, 1993, under the sign of Libra. The twenty-six-year-old is of American nationality and of white ethnic origin.

Bubba Wallace was born in Mobile, Alabama to a black mother, Desiree Wallace, a social worker who ran track at the University of Tennessee, and a white father, Darrell Wallace Sr., who owns an industrial cleaning company. Wallace grew up in Concord, North Carolina, where he attended Northwest Cabarrus High School.

Professionalism

Wallace began racing in the Bandolero and Legends car racing series when he was nine years old. He won the Franklin County Speedway in 2008, making him the youngest driver to do so. He began competing in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East two years later.

In 2014, he became the first African-American to win a NASCAR Gander Outdoors Truck Series race (Martinsville, 2014).
