Following a successful collegiate career at Marshall University, Byron Leftwich was selected in the first round, seventh overall, by the Jacksonville Jaguars in the 2003 NFL Draft. He also played for the Atlanta Falcons in 2007, the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2008, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2009, and the Pittsburgh Steelers from 2010 to 2012. During his playing career, he was named Super Bowl champion (XLIII), MAC Most Valuable Player twice (2001, 2002), and MAC Offensive Player twice (2001, 2002).
Leftwich was hired as a coaching intern by the Arizona Cardinals during training camp on May 9, 2016. On January 27th of the following year, he was hired as the Cardinals’ quarterbacks coach.
