He resided in the same residence as future House Speaker and Republican vice presidential contender Paul Ryan while they were both students at the university. When Pergram was a senior in high school, he began his professional journalism career.

What is the Professional Career of Chad Pergram?

He first served as an intern, reporter, and anchor at WKRC-AM in Cincinnati. After that, Pergram started working for Oxford, Ohio’s WMUB public radio station. Prior to beginning work for Fox News Channel in September 2007, Pergram worked as a correspondent for Capitol News Connection.

Additionally, he produced and served as the host for newscasts for NPR in Washington and the Senate producer for C-SPAN. Additionally, Pergram worked as a senior Capitol Hill producer, documenting important events on the Hill such as the 2016 presidential election, the Brett Kavanaugh and Neil Gorsuch confirmation hearings, the 2010 and 2018 midterm elections, and numerous legislative milestones and showdowns.

In Alexandria, Virginia, a few miles from Pergram’s home, a shooting took place during a Republican members of Congress baseball practice in 2017. Prior to the annual Congressional game, the shooting left Rep. Steve Scalise (R-LA), the House Majority Whip at the time, dead and numerous others hurt.

When the story first broke, Pergram was the first to report it. She also followed it through Scalise’s rehabilitation. Additionally, over the course of his lengthy career, Pergram has won many honors. He won a regional Edward R. Murrow Award for excellence in reporting in 2007 for his coverage of outgoing House Majority Leader Tom DeLay (R-TX).

The Washingtonian named him one of the best 50 journalists of the year in 2009. In addition, for his Washington-based broadcasts, Pergram was the youngest recipient of the Radio/Television Correspondents Association’s Joan S. Barone Award for Excellence in National Affairs/Public Policy Broadcast.

His Career at Fox News
