Channing Frye is a former professional basketball player from the United States. Until his retirement in 2019, he was a power forward in the National Basketball Association (NBA). In the NBA draft of 2005, he was chosen by the New York Knicks. With that selection, he became the first college senior to be drafted that year. New York Knicks
Channing Frye was drafted by the New York Knicks in the NBA draft in 2005. In his first season, he appeared in 65 games for the club, starting only 14 of them. His performance, though, was commendable, as he averaged 12.3 points and 5.8 rebounds per game.
In his first NBA season, he was unable to play as many games as he had hoped. He then hurt his left knee on March 21, 2006, and had to miss the rest of the league games.
In the 2006-07 season, he returned to the Knicks after a long layoff. He appeared in 72 games and started more than 50, however he was unable to improve his performance. He scored 9.5 points per game and grabbed 5.5 rebounds per game.
