From a very young age, Nguyen became interested in performing arts, particularly acting. Almost all of the activities at her school she used to perform and participate in on a regular basis. When she was 16, she came to Australia on her own to pursue her passion and realize her dream of becoming an actress.
Nguyen, on the other hand, found it difficult to relocate to a nation so far from her home. Her parents encouraged her to pursue a profession in medicine, IT, or business. But from the beginning, she had a strong desire to work as an actor. In her 2019 interview with dscribe.net.au, she said:
“They worried a lot because they barely heard of anyone studying abroad and choosing acting before, especially in Vietnam. Students usually choose Business, IT or Doctor (medicine) because those majors are easier to find a job after graduation and it’s more stable.”
Nguyen traveled to Australia and enrolled in the Victorian College of Arts’ acting program after spending years persuading her parents to let her. She also received the “Grace Marion Wilson Scholarship” from the college for her excellence in acting.

Nguyen made her acting debut in the 2017 short film Iridescent, playing a supporting part. The year after that, she was cast in the leading role of Stella in the motion picture Repent or Perish.
