About Chucky Atkins’ employment, he left his position in 2010 after participating in the sport of competitive basketball since 1996. He started playing professionally in 1996 with the La Crosse Bobcats of the CBA after being passed over in the NBA draft that year.
He played for the Croatian team Cibona Zagreb from 1997 until 1999. After being selected by the Orlando Magic, Chucky made his NBA debut in 1999, averaging 9 points and 4 assists per game.
He then became a member of the Detroit Pistons before being exchanged for Mike James and sent to the Boston Celtics. In 2004, the Los Angeles Lakers acquired him in exchange for Gary Payton. He was traded to the Washington Wizards in the summer of 2005, but he was soon fired.
