Because Ciarán Hinds’ ideal relationship with his long-term partner of three decades, Helene Patarot, tells a different story. But, despite being together for over thirty years, Hinds and Patarot have yet to tie the knot.
In fact, Ciarán Hinds and Helene Patarot will never marry.
Hinds, a Belfast native, is best known for his roles in Game of Thrones, in which he co-starred with Kit Harrington, Emilia Clarke, and Sophie Turner, as well as The Terror, Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance, There Will Be Blood, and The Woman in Black.
Ciaran met Helene for the first time in his career while working as an actor in Peter Brook’s version of The Mahabharata, which was released in 1989. While Hinds played the role of Ashwathama, Patriot, who is also an actress, played Gandhari.
The series, which was produced on a $5 million budget, was a huge success. Needless to say, Ciaran and Helene, who both rose to prominence as a result of the Hindu myth drama, grew closer and eventually fell in love.
Ciaran and Helene are still in love and growing stronger three decades later. The only question on the table that the couple is bothered by is why they never married. But, in reality, Hinds has publicly stated that he will never marry.
Why? Hinds, on the other hand, does not believe in marriage.
Before you get too far into the conclusion, Hinds is a firm believer in love. However, the actor does not believe that it is necessary to marry in order to have a happily ever after. But there’s another reason Hinds doesn’t want to get married.
Call it insecurity or a fear of marriage, but Hinds admitted to being concerned that he won’t be able to keep his marriage vows. What about Helen, though?
Of course, Hinds expresses a desire to marry. But, when she is certain and assured that she has been blessed with the best, aka her boyfriend, the true love of her life who will never do anything to hurt her badly, the French actress of Asian origin has compromised.
And their decades-long friendship demonstrates this. Not to mention that Hinds and Patarot have a daughter named Aoife Hinds, who was born in 1991. And, with the presence of a beloved child in the Hinds’ life, it’s clear that their love has only grown stronger.
Aoife, who followed in her parents’ footsteps, is also known for her roles in the Commuter, Derry Girls, and Cheat. Aside from that, the three-person family lives in France.
