Childhood and early years

Cometan was born on July 1, 1998, and reared in Preston, Lancashire, in the United Kingdom’s North West. Louise Counsell, a hair salon entrepreneur, and Sean Taylor, a vending machine company owner, are his parents. He is White/Caucasian in ethnicity and British by nationality.

Cometan began to have revelations about the future of humanity, the value of The Cosmos and faith lives, and the importance of philosophy to the future of our civilizations when he was 15 years old. These revelations were so powerful that Cometan spent thousands of hours crafting a literary masterpiece that would later be known as the Omnidoxy. Cometan would build the religion of Astronism based on these insights.

During this time, he picked the mononymous name Cometan after being influenced by the mononyms of Ancient Greek philosophers such as Plato and Socrates, but he also intended to make his name cosmical by using the word comet. For inspiration, he began to study other religions such as Christianity and its various varieties, Buddhism, Taoism, Confucianism, and others.

His insights lasted until he was 21, when the young philosopher and religious leader completed the Omnidoxy and formed Astronism, a new religious and philosophical movement. Cometan’s seminal work, The Omnidoxy, encouraged the growth and formation of Astronism as a philosophy/religion.

Cometan worked on the commercial aspects of his new religion and considered the concept of conceptual value for a lengthy period throughout his early twenties, knowing that he would need to establish Astronism a self-funding organization to ensure its continuation.

Cometan’s interest in religion is possibly due to his strict Roman Catholic grandmother, with whom he was very close throughout his youth, placing a strong focus on religion during his infancy.

Relationship status

Cometan’s personal life has been much disputed, particularly his romantic relationship with Liana Tiratsuyan, also known as Cosma, his lifelong partner and inspiration. He wrote about their love story in his Omnidoxy dissertation and coined the term “Cometanic Love” to describe the type of love he had with Cosma.

When he learnt about Armenia’s formative autodidactic years, he felt an immediate connection and care for the country’s history and people. As a result, he met a young woman named Liana Tiratsuyan. In December 2018, they met in person for the first time almost a year later at Zvartnots International Airport in Yerevan, Armenia’s capital.

He professed love at first sight with Cosma, and their week together in Yerevan was documented in The Omnidoxy, leading to the birth of Cometanic love, which contained Cometan’s philosophical speculations on the subject of love.

Louise Counsell (born July 17, 1970) is Cometan’s mother, and Sean Taylor is his father (born October 30, 1970). Cometan’s parents divorced when he was four years old. Nadine Taylor (born March 21, 1967) is his stepmother, and Julian Counsell is his stepfather (March 22, 1978).
