From 1991 to 1993, O’Brien was employed at “The Simpsons,” where he later rose to the position of supervising producer from 1992 to 1993.

On April 26, 1993, he was selected as the new host of “NBC’s late-night show,” now known as “Late Night with Conan O’ Brien,” after holding an audition for the job.

On the broadcast in 1994, David Letterman offered a number of encouraging remarks that gave the team motivation to carry on. Conan gradually began engaging the audience.

After the show nearly was cancelled because of low audience, it aired for 15 seasons. The program averaged 2.5 million viewers by the year 2005. On February 20, 2009, the final episode of the program broadcast, with O’Brien destroying the set with an axe to mark the conclusion of the episode.

He co-wrote the ‘Andy Barker, P.I.’ series pilot in 2007. He was also one of the program’s executive producers.
