He was named Texas District 14-6A Offensive Newcomer of the Year in 2019 as a sophomore.

His passing totals during his junior season were 3,808 yards, 42 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions. He was awarded the title of 2020 District 16-6A Offensive Player of the Year as a result.

Behind Cade Klubnik and ahead of the Top 5, which included Ty Simpson, Drew Allar, and Walker Howard, Conner was ranked as the second-best quarterback recruit.

The top five recruits for 2022 were Travis Hunter, Walter Nolen, Luther Burden, Mykel Williams, and Domani Jackson, while he came in at number 22 overall.
