Net Worth of Dan Short:

Dan Short is a fascinating figure in his own right. While he is best recognized for his automotive work, he has lived a life full of adventure and interests. Dan Short of FantomWorks has done fairly well for himself despite being more low-key than celebrity car hosts like the impassioned Richard Rawlings or the intricate Chip Foose. The owner of DRS Automotive Fantomworks, a Norfolk, Virginia-based auto repair shop, is worth $3.5 million.

Of course, all of that cash didn’t come from his autobody firm. While he performs wonderful work, he also had a fantastic show on Velocity TV from 2013 to 2019 called The Shop, which was eponymously named after his shop. Many spectators said it was a fun, down-to-earth display with a lot of things that other auto shows didn’t have.

And what’s wonderful about Dan Short is that he’s a fascinating character. While he’s best recognized for his car work, he’s had an interesting life full of adventures and passions, which we’ll discuss. But, at the end of the day, the man is a car guy first and foremost, and he has been a vehicle enthusiast since spotting a 1967 Camaro in his teens.

Melissa, Dan’s wife, is a retired US Navy officer from Muleshoe, Texas. His wife currently works at Dan’s FantomWorks as the Human Resources Manager and Special Projects Manager. Dan and his wife are not only enjoying their married life as husband and wife, but they are also the proud parents of Zman Short, who was born on October 1, 2003. The pair has been married for quite some time. They appear to be pleased with one other, as they frequently post gorgeous images of them on social media.

Fantom Works & Military Career:

Dan Short served in the US army before founding Fantomworks, according to his biography. He enlisted in the military at the age of 17 in 1979. He began serving with Special Forces, HALO, Strategic Recon, and SCUBA teams on missions all around the world after only two years. Dan retired honorably as a Major in 2005 after 24 years of service. He, on the other hand, made the most of his retirement by working full-time on FantomWorks in a burned-out garage. It’s unlikely that FantomWorks was created overnight.

Dan Short has put a lot of time, effort, and attention into it. When people ask Dan how he came up with the idea for one of the best restoration garages in the country, he has a story to tell. It is the product of his lifelong interest in autos.  Dan Short’s fascination with automobiles began as a child, when he spotted a Camaro when he was only five years old. He began spending time on cars as a teenager, repairing and learning about motors, engines, and various vehicle parts. He found time for his hobby while in the service as well, whether he was free or on leave.

FantomWorks is a place where one may restore and modify old cars. Customers are not restricted; anyone can restore their automobiles at the garage, whether they are classic or muscle cars, domestic or imported vehicles. The FantomWorks team not only alters vehicles, but also motorcycles. One of the distinctive aspects of the FantomWorks crew is that they produce their own vehicle parts. Although creating custom parts is difficult, Dan’s team excels at it. They also arrange the autos for their customers according to their schedule and budget. It’s easy to see why FantomWorks is so popular. Dan’s and his team’s expertise doesn’t stop there. In 2013, Velocity televised FantomWorks as a reality TV series. It broadcasted the results of Dan’s restoration work. The show ran for eight seasons, ending in July of 2019.
