Dan Shulman

Dan Shulman is a Canadian sportscaster who has worked for both ESPN and Sportsnet in the United States.

He has garnered numerous prizes and honors for his contributions to sports journalism. He is the only person to receive the Sports Media Canada Broadcaster of the Year award twice, in 2000 and 2007. He is also the first Canadian to be named National Sportscaster of the Year by the NSSA in 2011.

Dan got a bachelor’s degree in actuarial science from the University of Western Ontario in 1989.

Married To Wife:

Dan Shulman is married to his second wife right now. In 2018, they tied the knot. The pair has a son together.

Despite having studied actuarial science, Dan Shulman pursued a career in sports journalism. Dan Shulman worked as a host for various networks in the beginning of his career.

He presented Blue Jays pre- and post-game shows on the Telemedia Sports Network from 1992 to 1994, as well as numerous ESPN Radio weekend programmes.

He also hosted the Toronto Maple Leafs weekly magazine show The Leafs League Report on CFTO from 1992 to 1995, as well as The Major League Report and Baseball Today shows for The Fan. He also presented Prime Time Sports, a nationally syndicated sports radio show that aired across Canada.

Dan also worked for Canadian Television (CTV), where he covered the 1994 Winter Olympics in Lillehammer, Norway, as well as the 1994 FIBA World Basketball Championship in Toronto, Canada.

He then joined ESPN in 1995 and has worked on a variety of sports programs for the network. He worked as a voice for ESPN’s Wednesday Night Baseball and regular-season coverage from 2002 to 2007. He previously worked on ESPN from 2006 to 2011, covering NBA games, Monday Night Baseball from 2008 to 2010, and Sunday Night Baseball from 2011 to 2017.

He is currently a play-by-play commentator for NCAA Men’s College Basketball and Major League Baseball telecasts for ESPN.

Dan has been serving Sportsnet in Canada since 2016, in addition to his work with ESPN. He is the play-by-play announcer for the Toronto Blue Jays. He previously worked for The Sports Network from 1995 to 2001, covering the same Blue Jays games and serving as the play-by-play commentator for the network’s NBA package of Toronto Raptors and Vancouver Grizzlies games.
