Cruickshank , on the other hand, won his next bout against Mike Rio via KO on January 25, 2014 at UFC Fight Night 40. Daron later faced Erik Koch at UFC Fight Night 40 on May 10, 2014. Second Injury and a contentious bout versus K.J Noons

On December 12, 2014, Daron faced K.J Noons in the Ultimate Fighter 20 Finale. After a closely contested first round, the bout was stopped in the second round after Noons poked Cruickshank in the eyes. Daron was on top and didn’t want the fight to end. Referee John McCarthy, however, ruled the fight out and labeled it a No Contest.

A setback in the UFC career

Daron fought Beneil Driaush at UFC 185 on March 12, 2015. He missed the weight during the initial weigh-in, coming in at roughly 157.5 lb. Even with more time, he was unable to lose weight, weighing around 157 pounds this time. Dariush was later awarded the fine, which was equal to 20% of Daron’s pocketbook. He was submitted in the second round and lost the fight. Daron later faced James Krause at UFC on Fox 16 on July 25, 2015, and was defeated by submission in the first round. On January 17, 2016, he lost by submission to Paul Felder in his next fight at UFC Fight Night 81.
