David Wolf made his professional debut in 2007 after numerous seasons as an amateur athlete. He originally played for ETC Crimmitschau in the 2nd Bundesliga, Germany’s second tier of hockey.

He had a total of 46 games with the squad at the time, and he also had a 9-point season. After that, he returned to ETC Crimmitschau and played a total of 36 games.

He scored eight points and racked up 120 penalty minutes in those games. Meanwhile, David was named to the German national junior squad in 2009.

The American Hockey League (AHL) is a professional

The Toronto Maple Leafs of the National Hockey League (NHL) offered him a spot in their 2012 summer camp a year later, but he declined.

He went on to play with the Hamburg Freezers, where he set a career-best with 17 goals and 19 assists. He improved the next year, scoring 40 points and logging 152 penalty minutes.

Following that, he attempted but failed to compete in the 2014 Winter Olympics. He later expressed an interest in playing in the NHL and signed a one-year, two-way deal with the Calgary Flames.

Soon after, he was sent to an American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate by the NHL. He was a member of the Adirondack Flames in that league. He did have a good start with the squad, scoring 12 goals and adding nine assists in 35 games. David Wolf was called up to the NHL by the Calgary Flames for the first time on January 26, 2015. After that, he made his NHL debut in a win against the Edmonton Oilers.

Although it got off to a wonderful start, the good fortune didn’t last long. Following that, David Wolf suffered a laceration to his thigh and was forced to miss three games.

Following that, David rejected all offers to play in the American League and returned to Germany. With this, he was reunited with the Hamburg Freezers. Soon after, Hamburg moved him to Adler Mannheim of the DEL, where he signed a seven-year deal.
