The reason of Hill’s death has yet to be determined. All that is known about him is that he suffered from a brief illness. His family has requested anonymity and has yet to speak on his death and funeral.
PROFESSIONAL life
Hill first served in the US Air Force for four years, primarily at Andrews Air Force Base. He then spent six years as a police officer in Prince George’s Country.
Hill began his meteorological career as the weekend weatherman for WWBT-TV in Richmond, Virginia. He spent the next four and a half years in Detroit before returning to Washington, D.C. in 1984 to work for CBS station WUSA. He spent 16 years with WUSA before moving to ABC7 (WJLA).
Hill left WJLA-TV as Chief Meteorologist on September 15, 2017. He was also a radio personality for WGTS 91.9 FM, a Christian radio station. Hill was honored with a Washington Emmy Award for his broadcasting excellence, as well as the American Meteorological Society’s “Seal of Approval.”
