It’s been a while since the Iranian surgeon parted ways with his life’s love. Long before that, in 1975, Dr. Nowzaradan married his girlfriend turned wife Delores Nowzaradan. Delores reportedly worked as a secretary before quitting to raise her children.

For twenty-five years, the lovely couple had a romantic relationship. Nonetheless, their romance made everyone jealous in the early stages of their marriage. Their love chemistry grew even stronger after the couple welcomed their first child, Jonathan Nowzaradan, on February 6, 1978.

This couple’s romance also resulted in the birth of two more daughters, Jennifer Nowzaradan and Jessica Nowzaradan. In fact, all of their children are married and living happily ever after with their spouses.

Unfortunately, the surgeon’s long relationship with his wife Delores did not last. After a legal divorce in 2002, the couple split up due to family disputes and misunderstandings. Following the tumultuous case, the victim requested $200,000 and $1 million in restitution for the harm caused by Dr. Nowzaradan. However, the case was later settled after Dr. Now – Houston Obesity Surgery and Best Care Clinic, Inc agreed on payment terms for the charge.

When one of his patients died during his treatment, he was hit with yet another lawsuit. On November 21, 2012, the deceased patient’s wife filed a lawsuit against him and the University General Hospital. She claimed that from September 2010 to March 2011, the doctor treated her husband.

She said,

“[Defendants] failed to advise [the plaintiffs] of the full extent and significance of his condition, as well as the need for immediate testing to rule out various diagnoses, or to implement immediate follow-up treatment if those diagnoses proved correct.”

She went on to say that they were negligent in the treatment that led to her husband’s death. Dr. Nowzaadan, on the other hand, denied the allegations and asked the plaintiff to provide evidence to back up her claims.
