By 2004, he had established himself as a key member of Saint Joseph’s unbeaten team. Jones was a No. 1 seed in the NCAA tournament at the time.

Jones’ 418 rebounds were the second-best single-season number in school history, and he was on his way to multiple player titles and awards.

The Professional Arena

Jones entered the 2005 NBA Draft after graduating from St. Joe’s, but went undrafted. In the same year, he was signed as an undrafted rookie free agency by the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Soon after, he was assigned to the Florida Flame of the NBA Development League. They traded him to the Boston Celtics a year later after he made 26 appearances.

In October 2006, the organization traded him to the Cleveland Cavaliers after fourteen games.
