He committed one of the biggest American kidnappings. Despite coming from a wealthy family, he chose to isolate himself and live in terror of falling short of his father’s expectations.

According to information on him gleaned from historical news articles about him, he was just 24 years old in 1976 when he was detained in connection with a kidnapping case. After his imprisonment, every application for parole was rejected until August 2022.
He was so wealthy that the woods trust fund provided a final litigation settlement sum to each of the 25 surviving children who were abducted by him. All of the kidnapped kids filed a complaint against Frederick and the other two kidnappers.
