Bob Seger noticed him and signed him to Hideout Records.Glen also started his own band, Heavy Metal Kids, in 1967. Longbranch Pennywhistle, a combo he created with Southern in 1968, was named for him. They secured a deal with Amos Records and published their debut album in 1969, which included songs such as “Rebecca” and “Bring Back Funky Women.” Frey eventually created the Eagles with Don Henley, Meisner, and Chris Leadon after 1970.
