Han’s ice skating career began when he was in kindergarten. A few coaches came to Han’s kindergarten to pick out the children who would make good figure skaters. They invited the small children to go roller skating. Then everyone who said yes was escorted to the ice. The coaches asked the kids to change from roller skates to figure skates on the last day and brought them ice skating.

The students were then asked if they wanted to continue figure skating by the coaches. Han was too young to make a sensible judgment at the time. Without understanding what would happen next, he said yes to the coaches. As a result, Han Cong embarked on his adventure into the world of figure skating without even realizing what he was getting himself into. Han, on the other hand, fell in love with the ice quite soon.

The Beginning of the Battle

Han’s ice skating adventure was not always rosy. He had a lot of ups and downs in the beginning of his skating career. He pondered retiring from the sport when he became tired of it. The Chinese skater even stopped practicing after hurting his foot. Han’s coach, who was on the lookout for new talent, convinced him to return to the rink. Han’s entire team aspired to be a member of the national team. Han, on the other hand, lacked confidence in his ability to do so. He had decided to give up sports because he was uninterested in it.

Furthermore, he had to start over following his injuries. His performance, he claims, was severely defective. His coach, on the other hand, pushed him and guided him down the path of progress. Han Cong and Sui Weijing first joined up as professional pair skaters in 2007. Han was 15 years old at the time, and Sui was only 12 years old. By now, the children who selected this path without knowing what was ahead can proudly state that they have succeeded.

Skating allowed them to see locations he had never visited before. Furthermore, ice skating propelled them to heights of prosperity they had only imagined.

The Beginning of Sui Wenjing’s Skating Career

Sui Wenjing began her skating career in 2003. Shen Xue and Zhao Hongbo were well-known Chinese athletes at the time. Sui was enthralled by the athletes’ performance in a television competition. She was so taken with it that she decided to learn the sport right away. Sui was infatuated with ice skating and had no qualms about learning how to do it. The majority of children begin ice skating lessons when they are four or five years old. Sui had already reached the age of eight at the time. She did not, however, quit up.

Sui Wenjing was an excellent student who excelled in her studies. As a result, her mother encouraged her to focus on academics rather than sports. Sui, on the other hand, had already made ice skating a part of his life. She refused to give up skating despite her mother’s best efforts to persuade her otherwise. Sui’s mother eventually realized her daughter’s enthusiasm for ice skating and ceased trying to persuade her to change careers. Instead, she began to support her daughter.

Han Cong’s Professional Life

In 2009–10, Sui Wenjing and Han Cong made their international debuts at the ISU Junior Grand Prix, where they both won gold. They went on to win the gold medal in the ISU Junior Grand Prix Final. In addition, the couple won the Chinese Figure Skating Championships at 2010, earning a ticket in the 2010 World Junior Figure Skating Championships, where they won gold.

In addition, the pair earned silver in the 2010 Cup of China, marking their Senior Grand Prix debut. At the 2011 World Junior Figure Skating Championships, Sui and Han earned their second junior world title. Sui and Han competed in the 2011 Skate Canada, where they placed second in the senior division. Similarly, the duo competed in the 2011 Cup of China and finished fifth.

Sui and Han also won gold in the 2012 Four Continents Championships in the short and free skate events. Sui and Han competed in their first season in the 2017 Four Continents Championships, winning gold with a new personal best score of 225.03 points. It was also their new personal best at the time. Furthermore, at the 2017 World Figure Skating Championships in Helsinki, Finland, the Chinese duo won their first World Championship. Both the free skate and the short program were won by them.

As part of the Grand Prix series, Sui and Han competed in the Cup of China and the NHK Trophy. They won gold in both competitions and qualified for the Grand Prix Final. Sui pulled out of the 2018 Four Continents Championships after injuring her lower leg at the shinbone while training.

The couple did not compete in the team event at the 2018 Winter Olympics. They did, however, take first place in the short program, third place in the free skate, and second place overall in the solo event. Recovering from an injury

Sui and Han competed at the 2019 Four Continents Championships for the first time. He fell on her attempted triple toe loop, putting them in second place behind Kirsten Moore-Towers / Michael Marinaro of Canada in the short program. Sui admitted that he committed a mistake because he was “a little overjoyed” with the prospect of returning to the tournament. Sui and Han won the free skate and their sixth overall Four Continents gold despite a second fall by Sui on the side-by-side triple Salchow.

Similarly, at the 2019 Global Championships, Sui and Han won their second world title. They skated two perfect performances and achieved personal records in both competition segments. Sui and Han also set a new world record in the free skate with a score of 155.60. In addition, their overall score of 234.84 points set a new world record. Covid-19

Sui and Han have been chosen to compete in the China Cup in 2020. Because the Covid-19 outbreak had disrupted international travel, the selection was mostly dependent on geographic area. The couple, however, had to withdraw from the tournament due to Han’s hip surgery. During the season, the couple did not make many appearances. As a result, the duo was dubbed the “Dark Horse” when they competed in the 2021 World Championships in Stockholm.

At the Asian Open in 2021, the Chinese duo won gold. They also won a gold medal at the 2021 Skate Canada International, their first Grand Prix event. The 2021 Cup of China was supposed to be Sui/second Han’s Grand Prix event, but it was canceled, therefore they were demoted to the 2021 Gran Premio d’Italia.

They won their second Grand Prix in as many weeks, winning by 12.69 points over silver medalists Peng/Jin. In 2021–22, they were also the first pair team to qualify for the Grand Prix Final. However, due to the extensive use of the Omicron model, the Grand Prix Final was eventually canceled.
