He tore his knee in a first-round playoff game against the Miami Heat, and he was forced to sit out the rest of the season. With 33 votes, he came in fifth place in the 2012 NBA Rookie of the Year voting. On the 13th of January 2013, he was medically cleared to practice with the team. On the 17th of January, he made his season debut against the Detroit Pistons in London’s O2 Arena.
