Then Matthews enquired as to everyone’s well-being. She locked the doors and hurriedly closed her chamber. She shut the curtains, turned out the lights in her room, and went into hiding.
Based on her experience following the 2012 high school massacre, Matthews knew what to do in this kind of situation, and she made every effort to save herself and others.
