Jake proposed to Brittany in late 2007, after they had been dating for a few years. However, the couple has kept the details of their engagement under wraps. And it didn’t take the couple more than a year to drive their relationship to its ultimate goal.
Jake married his fiancee Britanny in November 2008 at the Gaylord Texan in Grapevine, Texas, with the wedding details remaining unknown.

In an interview with MLB.com in 2014, Jake revealed that his three-year-old son would frequently ask him why he needed to work so hard, and he would respond:
“Well, in order to get better at our jobs, we need to practice and work hard.”
