Early life and Childhood of Jameson Taillon

Jameson Taillon was born to Christie and Michael Taillon in Lakeland, Florida, on November 18, 1991.

Professional career

Taillon was dubbed by Fangraphs as the top high school pitching prospect since Josh Beckett before to the 2010 MLB Draft (1999).

He was compared to Stephen Strasburg by Baseball America.

He had a National Letter of Intent with Rice University that had been signed in November 2009, which made it difficult for the Pirates to sign him.

Taillon was taken by the Pittsburgh Pirates with the second overall choice in the draft.
