Jan Choinski is a German-born professional tennis player. Choinski reached the zenith of his career in the ATP singles rankings, winning the prestigious title of world No. 164 on July 3, 2023.

He made his ATP main draw debut at the 2016 MercedesCup, gaining a wildcard entrance for the singles event. Furthermore, on October 10, 2022, he won his first-ever Challenger title by defeating Juan Pablo Varillas.

And, on 3 April 2023, he reached a career high by climbing to No. 194 in the top 200 rankings. The professional tennis player was born on June 10, 1996, in Koblenz, Germany, to parents Andrzej and Dominique. Jan Choinski’s parents were professional ballet dancers, despite the fact that he began his career in sports.

Dominique, his mother, was born in Singapore as the daughter of a naval officer. She afterwards relocated to Southampton on England’s southern coast to settle down.

Dominique became a dancer with the famed Royal Ballet in London after migrating to England. Following her dance adventure, she traveled to Germany, where she met Choinski’s father, Andrzej.

Although Andrzej now works as a coach for his son, he used to be a professional dancer. Because they were in the same dance group in Germany, the two kindled their chemistry and eventually tied the wedding.

As a result, the young tennis star grew up in Germany with his ballerina parents. Jan also mentioned his parents, saying, “I danced at my parents’ ballet school until I was 12.”

“But it was never in my mind to become a professional ballet dancer,” he added. It was a way for me to prepare for tennis.” And, as a new member of the British tennis team, the player has expressed gratitude to the squad and his mother.

“Having a British mother and playing the tournament that she lives for and having her here, I’m really thankful for that,” Jan remarked.

Jan Choinski comes from a broad ethnic background, which reflects his distinct ancestry. In Germany, the tennis player was born to a Polish father and an English mother. Despite the fact that his mother was born in Singapore, she finally resided in Southampton and obtained British nationality.
