“We had just made sandwiches that we were going to distribute to the homeless,” she said. We were in the car when I received the call. Strangely, we had to stop exactly by Knight’s and my former New Orleans apartment when we had to pull over.

Immediately, I went s—. “This is not real,” it said. This is a fabrication. I was reluctant to accept it. It took me a few days to come to terms with it. I still miss being able to call him and speak with him.
