Joe Mixon of the Cincinnati Bengals was issued an arrest warrant after allegedly pointing a gun at a woman.
Joe Mixon, the starting running back for the Cincinnati Bengals, is apparently the subject of an arrest warrant for one count of aggravated menacing after allegedly pointing a gun at a lady in downtown Cincinnati on January 21—the day before he participated in his team’s divisional playoff game.
What has happened to Joe Mixon?
- Images of the warrant shared by local media show that it was issued by the Hamilton County Municipal Court in Ohio and includes a statement from a lady who said Mixon brandished a gun at her and stated, “I should shoot you, the police can’t reach me.”
- The Bengals issued a statement stating that they are “investigating the situation and will not comment further at this time.” They added that they are “informed misdemeanor charges have been made against Joe Mixon.”
- When Forbes contacted Mixon’s agent, Peter Schaffer, for a response, he did not do so right away.

The day after Alligation
A day after the alleged incident, Mixon led the Bengals in rushing in the team’s divisional playoff victory over the Buffalo Bills. And rushing for 105 yards and a touchdown on 20 carries. After falling to the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC Championship game on Sunday, the Bengals were out of the playoffs.

Mixon has a track record of abusing women. He admitted guilt to assaulting a lady by striking her in the face, resulting in her needing medical attention. Although he was suspended from the University of Oklahoma for the entirety of his freshman season in 2014.
He was chosen by the Bengals with the 48th overall choice in the second round of the 2017 NFL Draft, having fallen out of the first round due to concerns about his character. In the NFL, Mixon has played exclusively for the Bengals and has run for more than 5,000 yards and 50 touchdowns. Mixon was chosen for the 2021 Pro Bowl.
