With 1970-1973, he began his career as a weatherman in Gordy Howard on “The Mary Tyler Moore Show.” He was also featured in McDonald’s ads. After his role as “James Evans Sr.” in Good Times, he gained enormous recognition and popularity. He was concerned about capturing the positive aspects of the African American slum family.
